The law school, at University of Gondar was invited by China- Africa Institute for Business and Law at Xiangtan University to participate “The Fifth China-Africa Forum of Law School Deans” (2022).
The theme of the conference was “Challenges and Opportunities for China-Africa Legal Education Cooperation in the Post-COVID Era” and the UoG School of law was one of the speakers supposed to share Ethiopian experience. Therefore, the law school Dean Mr. Alemu Taye spoke on the theme of “Legal Education During and Post-COVID 19 in Ethiopia: Major Challenges and Achievements”. The conference was held from September 23–24, 2022, and the forum was hosted by the China Association for Legal Education of the China Law Society and the School of Law of Makerere University and organized by the Law School of Renmin University of China and the Law School of Xiangtan University, co-organized by the China-Africa Institute for Business and Law and the Confucius Institute at Makerere University.
The conference used the ZOOM platform, and more than 56 deans from Africa and China’s universities law schools participated. The aim of the conference was to strengthen collaboration between African law schools and Chinese law schools.
